FAQs

Do I need my own instrument?

1

While it is not essential to own your own instrument at first, we highly recommend it. The obvious reason being is that students progress and enjoy lessons much more when they can practice at home! This helps student progress faster and feel more confident.

What age should I start music lessons?

2

We recommend a minimum age of 5-6 years old for most instruments. By this age children usually have developed a little more coordination and are able to get the most out of a 30min lesson.
Parents should not be worried starting students later either. Students can succeed at new instruments at any age.

What if I am an adult with no musical experience?

3

Not at all — everyone starts somewhere. We regularly teach adults who have never played before and create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace and enjoy the process.
Research has shown that listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory. All the more reason to start your musical journey.

Do you offer lessons online?

4

We champion in person lessons as this can really help develop solid technique. But we do offer online lessons for students in remote areas, those travelling and homeschool students.

Do you cater to students with extra learning needs?

5

Yes. Our staff have experience offering lessons to students of a wide variety of learning needs. We have provided lessons in conjunction with NDIS providers and special education facilities. We strongly believe music is one of the most inclusive forms of education.

I want to buy a instrument for my child but have no idea where to start?

6

No worries, our tutors can assist with some recommendations for instrument purchase. We highly recommend Miranda Music in Tweed Heads for all your instrument needs
